What is W.O.I. – Watches Of Italy?
Officially established in October 2019, W.O.I. – Watches Of Italy is the first Italian collective entirely dedicated to the world of independent watchmaking and related accessories.
The project was born as a free aggregation of entrepreneurs, brands and professionals operating across the entire watchmaking spectrum: from the production of timepieces to straps, bracelets and packaging, as well as components, spare parts, finishing, design, prototyping and specialized tools.
Its purpose is to create a flexible and dynamic platform that fosters networking and synergies among established companies, microbrands, startups and artisans, bringing together expertise and creativity. Today, the collective counts over 70 members, including well-known brands, independent designers, machinery manufacturers, private labels and specialized suppliers.
Following the success of the summer spin-off W.O.J. – Watches Of Jesolo in May 2025, Watches Of Italy decided to open its doors to international brands as well, transforming itself into the benchmark Italian event for microbrands, innovative startups and independent watchmakers from around the world. A winning decision that enriches the presence of national excellence with a selection of high-quality international brands, all united by a shared vision: pursuing watchmaking driven by passion, research and uncompromising creativity.
The Purpose of the Group
The mission of W.O.I. – Watches Of Italy is to create a true network that encourages dialogue and collaboration among the key players in independent watchmaking. The collective regularly organizes events of promotion and exchange – from exhibitions to gatherings, product launches, presentations, marketplaces and expos – offering its members the opportunity to showcase themselves to collectors, enthusiasts, wholesalers, distributors, the media and the general public.
One of the group’s greatest strengths is its free and flexible format, which allows microbrands, startups and small artisanal businesses – often producing limited or unique creations – to play a leading role in the watchmaking landscape. Thanks to the collective, these players can present themselves directly to collectors and specialized media, bypassing the entry barriers of traditional trade fairs and avoiding the heavy costs of marketing and exhibition spaces.
Future Goals
The main objective of W.O.I. – Watches Of Italy is to continuously expand its network both nationally and internationally, establishing itself as a reference point for independent watchmaking. Under a single banner, the collective aims to ensure the presence of its members at major Italian exhibitions and, as a group, to participate in leading international events – a challenge that, for a single microbrand or small artisan business, would often be unattainable due to the high entry costs.
At the same time, the network is actively working to foster collaborations among its members and to strengthen the Italian industrial sector of precision micromechanics. The ambition is clear: to build a fully-fledged Italian watchmaking supply chain (Filiera Orologiera Italiana), capable of meeting the sector’s needs independently and as self-sufficiently as possible, reducing reliance on foreign markets while enhancing the know-how of Made in Italy.
Watches Of Italy is a member of the “Luxury Logistics” commission of the S.L.A.L.A. Foundation – Logistics System of Northwest Italy.
W.O.I. 6: the 2025 Edition
Following the success of the 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 editions and the summer spin-off in Jesolo, the sixth national exhibition/market W.O.I. – Watches Of Italy 6 will be held on Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 November 2025 in Milan, the international capital of design and fashion.
The prestigious venue selected for W.O.I. 6 will be Superstudio Più, in Via Tortona 27, the beating heart of Milan’s creative district.
The move to Milan – in Zona Tortona, historically linked to the Salone del Mobile/Fuorisalone, Fashion Week and other important design, fashion and cultural events – aims to consolidate the event’s B2C identity (with direct sales to the public) and to strengthen its opening to the B2B world by offering an important networking opportunity for buyers, distributors, suppliers and retailers.
The exhibition/market has FREE ENTRY and is completely free of charge and will run non-stop from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm.
To book the free ticket, which is mandatory to access the event, you must register here.
